ENCOUNTERING OUR MUSLIM NEIGHBOURS
2018 RETREAT IN VIVIERS, ARDECHE, FRANCE MAISON DIOCESAINE CHARLES DE FOUCAULD
13 – 23 OCTOBER 2018
Retreat Giver: Dom Martin McGee, OSB, of Worth Abbey, Sussex
Our retreat will be based in the large and very well appointed diocesan retreat
house in the beautiful small walled town of Viviers, on the right bank of the
River Rhone, with the smallest cathedral in France……very much “la France
profonde” and little known to tourists.
The house is named after Charles de Foucauld, the former army officer who lived among the Taoureg people of southern Algeria and was martyred near Tamanrasset.
France is now home to about seven million Muslims, and so a very suitable setting for our retreat.
Our retreat-giver, Father Martin, is a Benedictine monk and specialist in the church in Algeria. He has published “Dialogue of the Heart-Christian- Muslim Stories of Encounter” and “Christian Martyrs for a Muslim People” both paperback.
Full retreat programme of liturgies, talks and excursions, with meals out on our whole-day excursions; all entrance charges and functions included.
Our itinerary is:
Sat.13 Oct: BA0358 departs Heathrow Terminal 3 at 11:45 - Arrives Lyon at 14:35
Tue.23 Sept: BA0363 departs Lyon at 17:45 - Arrives Heathrow Terminal 3 at 18:25
