Father Stephen Morrison
A potted biography

Father Stephen Morrison O.Praem. (born Dec 1985) is a member of the Norbertine (or Premonstratensian) Order, and was ordained to the priesthood in December 2014 for St Philip's Priory in Chelmsford, Essex. He is interested in musical performance and direction, and has studied piano, viola and organ.

Raised in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, in a devout Catholic family, he was educated in Garston and then in the Vendee region of France. He read French Literature at the University of Oxford (Oriel College), before becoming a Norbertine Canon Regular and pursuing theological studies in London, Rome and Birmingham.

He was assistant organ scholar at Oriel College for two years, playing or conducting at weekly services and on two tours abroad (Paris and Krakow). His interests include ecclesiastical history, art, and music, and the Latin liturgy and language, and he speaks fluent French, Spanish and Italian. His current principal duties are as curate in two Chelmsford parishes and as chaplain to the local catholic primary school.
